just a little bit from my list.....

Spithas: i'm surpised no one mentioned Red Hot Chili Peppers, they have really nice songs and have good funk-rock type of thing

Flea (the bassist) is also the one that combined these two types rock and funk

although the lyrics might not mean anything and don't stick with eahoter the songs themselves have a feel in the music
