Best Scary Movie all time?? (Page 2) hardcase71: i always thought the original omen, blair witch project 1 and the PA 2 was really scary without the gore. NiceguyAl: Poltergeist is my all time favorite horror movie! It doesn't bother trying to be scary, it just presents a fun story and extremely likable characters. The movie continues being fun throughout and never makes the mistake of taking itself too seriously. It is similar to Evil Dead in this respect which is why both movies are classics! HelterSkelter_0000: The Strangers, House of a 1000 corpses, The Devils Rejects, The Hills have eyes, Audition LoneQuietus: The Gate scared the bejeezus out of me when I was a little kid! There was literally no where safe to hide the entire freaking movie they're stuck in that house! The original Evil Dead is definitely a different kind of scary than the follow-ups. bluedragon9980: You guys are forgetting one of the scariest movies of all time THE EXORCIST. I could not sleep for days after watching it shark angel: i think there is no scary movie cuz now scare me but the one that made me sick was saw watcher carey elwes cut off his foot so sick junebug1974: I think Insidioius was really Creepy but btw i love all horror and bloddy maniac killing movies!!!! shout out for the old halloween movies......with Jamie Lee Curtis Scream Queen.... musicman77: dead silence is great, only saw it recently , kinda reminds me of magic with anthony hopkins. PickledMuse: Oh man, you rookies! lol I kid.. ok, just to qualify this, I'm a horror connoisseur so have literally seen pretty much EVERY movie out there - plus, note that there is a difference between scary (i.e. Exorcist) and disturbing (Irreversible, Funny Games etc). Nonetheless, here is just a very small sampling of my (scary) faves: 1) Hellraiser - Inferno 2) The Shining 3) Saw 4) Dawn of the Dead (both the Romero and Wylde versions) 5) The Thing 6) Texas Chain Saw Massacre (ok, and oldie but a goodie - even the new version was good) 7) Exorcist 8) Hills Have Eyes (new version, in particular) 9) Jacob's Ladder 10) The Others Ok, I should shut up as I'd be here all day lol (if anyone has any questions about ANY horror film feel free to pm me) (Edited by PickledMuse) PickledMuse: forgot one that is a MUST if you are a horror fan - the French flick "À l'intérieur" (Inside) - absolutely creepy (and very gory, in case you are quite sensitive about such) circadianrhythm: I saw Paranormal Activity 2 last week, no offense but i don't think it is scary at all... PickledMuse: I agree, CR - even the first one wasn't all THAT great as far as 'scary' flicks go. P.S. love the name, by the way, and your comments about Poland (couldn't send you a note because my profile is incomplete lol) gala_editer: I saw Tarzan Meets Godzilla In The Center Of The Earth when I was little. Now that was scary! circadianrhythm: Nightmare on elm street is Ok.. a bit scary. but i don't like the ending. why do they hv to die? as for saw nvr really watch the movie cuz sometimes the story-line isn't exciting. what about The Omen? that one is also not scary at all. PickledMuse: Forgot to mention 7even - although that was more disturbing than scary per se. Awesome flick, though. Oh, and while we're at it, speaking of disturbing - the original German version of 'Funny Games' (I haven't seen the Americanized one but have heard it's not bad as well). Lastly, although not really 'scary' I absolutely LOVED "House of 1,000 Corpses" and "Devil's Rejects". The former was brilliant (Sid Haig - the 'clown' guy - was worth the price of admission alone!) | Movies Chat Room Similar Conversations |
