hmmmm (Page 3) bahcatcha: yes but most of the people in the 70's considered telephones to be a pain in the ass so phone service chats really werent that big of thing that didnt really happen much until cellphones came out. see evolution has struck once again people now have a permanent phone in their ear. irish84: i don't trust anyone, period. anyone who travels that far deserves to be woken up. I don't judge pictures cuz half the woman who look 16 are really 20+ so i just go with the flow, if they want to meet me and they live close, i'm all for it, but i don't expect anything, and i don't go to anyones house or invite ppl here irish84: people in the 70's still did it, and cell phones are irrelevant as it was a big thing before cell phones became more common. look, say what you will about ppl who go to certain places for certain reasons, but reflect yourself as well so you aren't walking into a judgement bahcatcha: didnt i admit to trying it. and i know the world has changed, i have two kids that are bored all the time because the modern world doesn't offer young people a whole lot to do anymore movie theatres, skating rinks and even arcades either dont exist or are hard to find so all teens can really do anymore is hang out on the streets. and i know computers give them something to do. irish84: yea, computers are giving them something to do: become obese. i actually don't remember you saying you've tried it....if you're kids are bored all the time, put them into something. When i was a kid, of course i could stay home all day playing games, but i didn't. I was out playing sports, walking the streets getting street smarts, i started skateboarding and have been at it for 12 years......there's plenty to do these days, parents are just f^&%@# lazy! I do try to get my kids off the couch guess they just aren't motivated. i dont know why, when i was young i didn't know what boredom was. we had all kinds of shit to do. and our parents made us get a job we couldn't just sit around. irish84: if your parents wouldn't let you sit around, same should apply for your kids. cooking for kids is mandatory, but putting them in programs or getting them things to do is what kids need these days. Kids are out of control and get into trouble because parents don't get off their ass and do something about it. I'm not saying you're a bad parent, i don't know you. I'm saying parents shouldn't complain about things until they've tried a few methods. There are more and more things out there for kids these days, but the places are always empty cuz as soon as you give the child money, it goes to drugs.....they need guidance. bahcatcha: my son is so lazy if he cant find the remote hes lost, it never crosses his mind that channels can be changed manually. and dont even get me started on jobs, he has had one and quit because the work was too hard. he was a parttime dishwasher. and parents hands are tied you cant discipline your kids unless you want to be charged weth child abuse. irish84: how old is he? by the way i hope you don't feel i'm trying to tell you how to parent your child, that would just be wrong of me as i have no children....but maybe i can use a younger mind to help out bahcatcha: he is 17 i have 2 others that are older than him. they are both doing good. Maybe it's all the weed my wife and i smoked that messed up his mind. if thats possible. irish84: BINGO.......i've been smoking weed for 11 years and i started at age 14. It made me skip alot of school, be very lazy, and not have any motivation.....sorry to say but you've created your own problem.....now you gotta fix it! bahcatcha: somehow i thought you would see it that way, but i agree. those of us that smoke weed say it isn't harmful, and it may or may not be to us, but what are the long term effects on the offspring? irish84: weed is only harmful to those who do not use it wisely. The youth minds will never see what life is really about if they start smoking at a young age. they learn what they see. I started smoking weed at 13....i never graduated high school....i'm in trade school now but i took the backdoor. You can't do things with ppl until you know they will be responsible about it. bahcatcha: you are right about that. i would like to get my kid in a trade school. he says he wants to keep his options open. he s going to wake up and realize that life passed him bye. i wonder who he will blame then. irish84: once he hits a certain age it's all his own doing. you can only do so much as a parent, if a child wants to disobey, he/she will. It's great he wants to go for a trade, and he's young so keeping options open is the best thing for him.....all you can do is encourage him. The only thing is, and i say this as i saw it with my dad and younger brother....don't make him feel bad for what he doesn't do, make him feel good for what he does do. If he doesn't do much, it's still a start. The more you talk like he's lazy and useless, the more he will adapt to that state. Parenthood is not easy, i can understand that, just do what you can while you can and let him know the help is there. bahcatcha: i try, but my parents kicked me out at 18 luckily i was ready for it, but my son wont be ready. the rate he is going ill still be raising him when he is 30. irish84: yea i know what that's like, i know a couple of ppl like that. it's hard to say cuz i obviously don't know your son, but i'm sure it'll work out, just keep you head up. Oh, and going back to the original subject of this thread....i recently met someone through a website and i swear i would never have thought of trying to get her if it was on the street or somewhere, i would've walked by thinking i'd have no chance! irish84: thanks man, and keep your head up about your son, some are just late bloomers, by younger brother is actually just like him to think of it. He's almost 20 but for the past 5 years he's been at different jobs and now he barely gets hours cuz of our economy, but all he really does is smoke weed and chill......he just needs an epiphany |
