Favorite Accents (Page 2) ebony_joy: I love my own accent, it's flexible and diverse, it can be formal, street, cultural (when i speak my native languages) and a combo of formal and cutural and non of the accents i speak in sound anything alike. MaThinker (M.T.): All accents to me are interesting and many are cute (to my ears !)and pleasing, but the important thing is whether i can understand what is being spoken. I cant understand or make out the pronunciation of many speaking English, and tho the sound is pleasing, inability to understand is frustrating and after a while irritating. It takes getting used to though, i gez. I need more patience and energy to get it. MaThinker (M.T.): I like hearing Irish accents - it is delicious, except that i cannot catch the words well enough, that comes from not being exposed very much to Irish speakers of English. AussieOi: Irish Irish and Irish, some Californian, choop chop ingrish makes me smile and wog english (Southern European Australian)can be loads of fun to parody. Rough Aussie is emotive and nostalgic and Scots makes me want to fight, sing and drink. Once I met a Vietnamese from Texas, she had this mix of chop chop vietnamese and texan drawl which was so wrong it was right. Russian accents make me want borsht and wodka. What can I say I could go on all day! Monica: I love Antonio Banderas's (Spanish) accent too. I love Scottish and Irish accents too, forgot to add them earlier. |
