can not comment on fantacy epiics by comparison , but the lord of the rings is the one i would recomend . you've probably already read it .
now days i prefer my fantacy novels a little less epic . my attention span is marginal .

have you tried looking in the clubs , for those with like interests .
the book strores here , [ both new and used ] have thousands of tittles .
a voracious reader such as yourself should find plenty of interest .
once again ,... good look in your quest .

I am not sure this series would be considered "Epic." But it definitely grabs my attention. The Seven Books of the Seven Incarnations of Immortality by Piers Anthony. I warn, I liked it as a teenager. I was unable to read it as an adult. It takes somewhat of an open mind. I can imagine it could be seriously offensive religiously.

The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan is particularly epic.

The Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth nix is cool. The Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper is interesting.

My personal favourite is the Dark Tower series by Stephen King.

Imagica and the Books of Art from Clive Barker.

Call of Cthulu(from H.P. Lovecraft)... small in scale but epic in its writing.

You can also try series written by Patrick ness the first book is called the knife of never letting go. David eddings is also not a bad starting place
