look at all the accolades the dude has won and deserved.

His first 3 albums all won Rap album of the year at the Grammys, and still has a chance with 808's & Heartbreaks (even though I wouldnt really consider that a rap album). The only other artist to do that is Eminem. And with that I think Kanye at least deserves to be in the conversation for best artist right now, maybe he isnt the best, but hes near the top.

Kanye can produce his ass off, def one of the best. But as far as rapping goes hes not that strong, maybe in his Through the Wire days, now this auto-tone bs hes doing just makes him look stupid IMO

Thats your opinion, mine differs...Im not basing his rapping off of 808's and Heartbreak. But listein to Diamonds From Sierra Leone, or the first Verse from Get Em High..or Gone...He is pretty damn legit.

But I also dont look at "The Best Rapper" Debate at who has purely the best rhymes, but I look at it who is the best artist...and you gotta admit just about everything Kanye touches turns to gold.

How can you say everything he touches turns to gold. Maybe because all these teenie boppers buy his albums. If you ask me he should have stuck with producing. He is a whiny lil b#*~x!

Hmm...best rapper alive? I don't think most of you understand how difficult of a question that is to answer. There are the most popular and then there are the more favored rapper..which is what I think most of you really answered(no offense, guys)...then there's the real question: who's the best alive? That's impossible to answer because there are so many styles of rapping and emceeing that no one person could be the best everyone of them. But here's my opinion on who's the best alive...in their own mastered craft that is...

Best flow: Andre 3000
Best lyrical strength: Immortal Technique
Best Album seller: Eminem
Best Storyteller: Ghostface Killah
Most Hardcore: The RZA
Best Punchline: Talib Kweli(sorry, Wanye )
Best Overall: Nas

In my opinion Lil Wayne is the best effn rappa alive. He's hot farea. Many people dont understand the things he says.

The Wu is the best lyrical group. Mos Def, common, and Talib Kwali are great too. But if Pun was still alive, he was a lyrical genius
