With Brenden Fraser and Alicia Silverstone, set in the 50's..then advances to the 80's. Good clean fun, no nudity, clever s*****, And, an amazing dance scene. One of the few movies I can watch more than once.
I like the preface of the false Nucular war announcement forcing this couple, (Sissy Spacek and Christopher Walken) into the bomb shelter under their family home. This man was genius! It was like a supermarket down there! He planned for all contingencies! Even a tank for fish 'farming'. And every day mom gives social dancing lessons to her son, (who
was concieved down in the bomb shelter.) After spending 30 years waiting for all the Nucular fallout to dissipate, mom is getting a little antsy, swilling her sherry to calm her nerves...they send their son Adam to replenish their supplies, and to find himself a wife!.. Adam has the old 'values' from the 50's, and now has to quickly adjust to the 80's way of life!
