Actually I want to disagree and say that I can find a lot of books better than Twi. Its so typically cliche. I'm not going to say I didn't enjoy reading it. I liked it a lot when I was reading it. But I'm not going back for seconds anytime soon.
I've read HP:GOF 3 times. It rocks!
I would say that Austen books and Jean Sasson books are very good and people should try that. Also, I really like this book Can You Keep A Secret?.. that was marvelous.

Harry Potter is tons better than twilight. The book is good, But stephenie meyer has killed the series in Breaking dawn. That last book is total crap.
I have read Can you keep a secret? by Sophie Kinsella. Its an amazing book. Especially for those who love reading chicklit books.
The twilight movie was amazing. But cant say the same abt the damn books.

Yea that book was awesome... Now that book qualifies to be a movie!
Breaking Dawn was so.. and they lived happily ever after! Don't get me wrong I am an uber huge fan of disney, but Twi is not disney! For god's sake it's a vegetarian vamp who shines in the sun, falls in love with an accident prone ugly butt from the worst place in the country and then spends thousands of dollars buying her a car which can protect her from a damn military tank and then has a half human/half vamp baby with her and then all is well! Woo we have a baby and we have a great life! Yay!
Not.
Harry Potter. The fiction is fiction but the consequences of the actions and events are very believable! Its not like alls well in the end and we will live happily till the end of eternity. No. The end of Harry Potter is lined with the deaths of some of our most favourite characters (Fred, Remus, Sirius, Dumbledore, Tonks.. RIP) and the survival of some of our worst enemies (Draco is a prat in the book but I love him in fanfiction).

But don't you see? Thats wat precisely makes harry potter so endearing. The tragedy is so real that its palpable So wat if its a fiction series? JK Rowling has cleverly infused all elements of humanity in it. Love, hate, joy, sorrow, life, death... Whereas Twilight... is just a fairy tale. Dont get me wrong. I loved twilight, The book and the movie. But the book breaking dawn was plainly disappointing. It was, like I said, a fairy tale... Too good to b true.

I agree with you (Armandragora) on the whole Harry Potter thing.. You've explained it spot on.. but I still don't like the Twi series.. One thing I do like about the Twi series though is that it had some really funny parts in them... and I loved the character of Jacob and the characters of Alice and Jasper.. they are one of the few reasons I liked the movie... and also the baseball bit in the movie was cool !!

The "Tomorrow" series by John Marsden is an excellent group of books to read! The follow up series "The Ellie Chronicles" is also a pretty good read. Don't get me wrong tho...Im a Twighlight fan as well!
