What is the nature of truth?

Is truth absolute, or is it relative?  If something is true for me, does that make it "THE" truth?  Or is my subjective opinion subordinate to actual truth?  What is absolute truth?  One definition of truth is "the facts presented as they are".  This means that the absolute truth is not subject to our opinions, perceptions, beliefs, or conditions.  The absolute truth is independent of us.  It stands alone, and yet is all-pervading.
